Riku’s face turned slightly red. He wasn’t quite sure why, but he decided to go along with anyway. He then smiled and nodded at Flonne’s words.
“Yeah, Destiny Islands is pretty cool. There’s a main part of the island, where everyone lives, and then there’s this part slightly more far out. You have to use a rowboat to get there. Sora and I have been going there since we were really little. See, when I was two years old or so, I lost my parents, so I lived with Sora for a while, until I got older. We were like brothers. And we still are like brothers. We got pretty bored of playing on the main islands, so then Sora’s dad showed this really cool place which became our hang out. I kind of miss it, after being in this circus for so long.”
Riku nodded once again. He was really glad that his two best friends were with him in this hellhole. If they weren’t, who knows what would happen to Riku.
“Yeah, ever since that day she arrived, we sensed something special within her. We knew that we’d be best friends really soon. Oh, and yes, Sora is one of the most kind hearted people I’ve ever met. My heart used to be weak, but Sora helped me find the light in my heart, so then…I could fight off the darkness. Anyway, I’m rambling, and I’m sure you aren’t very interested, so yes, Sora and Kairi are both here, and I’m really glad that they are.”
Flonne’s bright red eyes blinked at the boy, widening slightly when he said he had lost his parents. It made her think of Laharl, who had been put in the same position- of course, he didn’t have a dependable friend like Riku did, which is why she took the responsibility of caring for him! Still, she did feel motherly to anyone who lacked what a basic family ought to have, so she couldn’t help but frown a bit in sympathy.
“Your island sounds so exciting! Was it a secret hangout? Ooh~ Mysterious!” She paused, before placing a delicate finger on her cheek in thought. “This circus is certainly holding many people captive. I want to talk to that Ringmaster! Let him know what’s going on! Surely, he can’t be all that bad, maybe just a bit lonely!”
“—Oh no, no! I’m very interested! I’m super curious about things, and I ramble a lot too so don’t feel self-conscious!” She took the finger that was previously on her cheek and pointed it at the boy. “Are you listening? I don’t want aaaany sad faces! If you fought away this ‘darkness’ then you have learned a valuable lesson in life! So I don’t think your heart is weak, Riku. I would like to meet this Sora, though, he sounds like quite the guy! I’m so sorry to hear that you had lost your parents, by the way, I hope everything turns out the best for you.” ♥

”..hi?” Is that all she wanted or something? I should really stop sleeping outside, I might avoid being bothered if I do…
“Um. Was there anything you needed?”
“Um! I didn’t really need anything. I saw you from a distance and found you to be really cute! There’s nothing like you in my world!”
“The fact you can talk so clearly too, without any accent or anything! It’s interesting! Sorry if I bothered you! I couldn’t help it!” ♥

Riku laughed a bit. He was glad that he had something in common with her.
“Heh, glad you understand what it’s like. See, I come from a place called Destiny Islands where I used to live with one of my best friends, Sora. We’ve lived there all of life. We’ve been best friends practically since the day we were born. When we got older, I’d say when I was around 6 or so, this girl named Kairi appeared on Destiny Islands, we had no idea where she came from, but we liked her, and shortly after, she became our best friend.”
Riku honestly had no idea why he told her the story, but it felt good to say it every once in a while.
“Destiny Islands….!” It sounded like such a beautiful place! A place where destinies intertwined maybe? An island too! It must have had romantic beaches…! Listening to Riku intently, she blinked at the mysterious appearence of Kairi on the island, her curiousity instantly being peaked.
“How cute! And the three of you became close friends ever since? It must be so nice to be able to relax in such a beautiful place.” ♥
“Is this Sora a nice boy? Are your two friends here in the circus, too?”

“Stooop…” He pushes himself up, grumbling.
He sits up, giving her a bored look. “Yes?”

Awkward silence as she places her hands on her lap.
“…..Hello!”

「Flonne… reminds me of flan. I really want some flan right now. It’s nice to meet you too! You’re such a bright spirit. Ahaha, it’s a good thing. We need more people like you in this place, Flonne. My name is Stocking. 」
Stocking returns the honey-laced smile and bows her head politely towards her. She seemed so kind, and her spirit reeked with optimism. Obviously, in a good way.
Flonne giggled at the comparison with her name, nodding her head in agreement enthusiastically. “Flan is delicious! And so is pudding! Especially pudding from the Sea of Gehenna! I’ve never actually had it, but I heard it’s good! ♥”
The compliment made her smile cheerfully, as she felt quite honored to have her presence so welcomed by another! Bowing her head, she gave her thanks.
“Why, thank you! I hope I can help many people while I’m here! I think being positive is the first step to deal with difficult situations!”
“Your name is Stocking? How neat! Your hair is super cool too!” she added, admiring it.

Riku smiled at the girl. He wasn’t used to this much cheeriness, but nonetheless, he he enjoyed it.
“Heh, I wouldn’t say that…There’s really no one I “love love”.
”’Love love’?”
“Buuut there’s someone you just love?” She misinterpreted his words completely, obviously not understand yet what he meant. “Everyone has someone special!”
“Yeah. I mean, I love my two best friends, but, not in the way that you’re probably thinking. I love them like they’re my siblings, I guess you could say…”
“— I have two best friends too! I know exactly how you feel!” She nodded, understanding him completely! She was glad to know she had something in common with Riku, mostly because he was so cool; and she wanted to be cool, too!
“I mean- I.. think I like one of them .. kind of .. a little… differently.. um..!!” Her cheeks grew to a slight tint of red until she looked away a bit embarrassedly.
“Sibling love is still a type of love!”
